How Fragments work, which episodes to keep free, how to set a fair price, and how to get paid.
Viewers buy Fragments ✦, the platform's currency, in packs or with the DeepStories+ subscription. They spend them to unlock paid episodes, films and shorts, or to send you a tip. Every Fragment spent on your titles counts for $0.01 of revenue, and 70% of it is yours.
People pay to find out what happens next, not to discover a story. The series that earn the most keep their first one or two episodes free and put a price on the following ones.
Prices go from 5 to 250 ✦ per episode, film or short. Most viewers are comfortable between 49 and 99 ✦ for an episode, and a little more for a full film.
You can change a price at any time from your creator space. Try a price for two weeks, then compare in your stats.
Imagine 500 people start your series. If 1 in 5 keeps going after the free episodes and unlocks 4 episodes at 49 ✦, that makes 100 × 4 × 49 = 19,600 ✦ spent: about $225 of revenue, of which about $158 is yours. Every new season adds to it.
The more episodes people want to see, the more you earn: a strong cliffhanger at the end of episode 2 is your best sales tool.
Viewers can send you a tip, paid in Fragments ✦, from your title pages and your profile. Asking helps: a short line at the end of an episode, such as “Enjoying the series? You can support me on DeepStories”, makes a real difference.
