On a jungle island, something steps out of the torchlight at night, and by morning someone is missing. Those it takes can no longer die, and can no longer refuse its orders. A stranger arriving from the sea joins a man whose wife was taken eleven days ago, and together they climb the mountain to face the one building an army nobody can kill.
